Entity resolution is the process of deciding when two or more records refer to the same real-world thing (the same supplier, part, or customer) even when their IDs, spellings, or formats do not match. It is the engine underneath master data management and golden records. BonData performs entity resolution automatically across ERP, PLM, MES, and file sources (Excel, CSV, PDF, EDI). High-confidence matches are resolved automatically and low-confidence ones are flagged for a person to confirm, so the result is auditable.

A bill of materials (BOM) is the structured list of parts, sub-assemblies, and quantities that make up a product. BOM reconciliation makes the engineering BOM in your PLM (Teamcenter, Windchill, Arena) agree with the manufacturing and procurement BOM in your ERP (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Infor). Mismatched revisions, materials, or part numbers are often caught only on the assembly line, after they have driven rework, scrap, and delay. BonData reconciles BOMs across PLM and ERP automatically by resolving the underlying part and supplier master data into golden records, working as a Context Layer over the existing systems rather than a migration.
